A bike designed for speed on the open road.

A bicycle of a similar style to a racing bike but built more for endurance and less the fast bursts of speed desired in a racing bicycle.

More gears

Multiple gear combinations and fewer hi-tech racing features.

  • Tyres- narrow, high-pressure (100 psi (700 kPa) or higher), and smooth to decrease rolling resistance.
  • Handlebars- Dropped to allow less drag resistance.
  • Gearing-They use variable ratio gearing (Derailleur)
  • Brakes- Disc or rim calliper breaks with shorter pads than MTB's
  • Frame- Lightweight construction.
  • Surface- Paved roads
  • Variations- Touring, Hybrid,
